Product Description

Compensators are traditionally also known as expansion joints. They consist of a bellows (an elastic element) and accessories, with the bellows serving as the primary working component. Accessories include end tubes, brackets, flanges, and ducts. They are classified as compensating elements. The effective expansion and contraction deformation of the working bellows absorbs dimensional changes in pipelines, ducts, and vessels caused by thermal expansion and contraction, or compensates for axial, lateral, and angular displacements in these systems. It can also be used for noise reduction and vibration damping.

Bellows are widely applied in modern industry. In heating systems, compensators are installed on pipelines to counteract thermal elongation or damage caused by thermal stress. This compensates for thermal expansion, thereby reducing wall stresses and forces exerted on valves or support structures.

Compensators feature rectangular cross-sections with circular corrugations. A single expansion joint accommodates two-dimensional displacement within the pipeline. An elbow pipe comprising two expansion joints can withstand three-dimensional displacement. Rectangular-circular metal corrugated expansion joints are available in full-height and half-height configurations. Users may select multi-section designs based on flue dimensions and stress-strain requirements.

1. After selecting an appropriate compensator based on the thermal displacement of the piping system, the user must provide at least the following information for the selected corrugation (full height 216mm, half height 108mm) and corrugation count (single corrugation with no more than 6 corrugations): the circulating medium in the pipeline, the design pressure of the flue gas duct, the operating temperature, and the overall cross-sectional dimensions (length and width) of the flue gas duct. This information is essential for designing and manufacturing the compensator structure.

2. Allowable expansion per wave: Full-height type Δα = 24 mm, Half-height type Δα = 12 mm.

3. Dust baffles: Not required for ducts or pipes with low dust levels; must be used for ducts with high dust levels.

4. To minimize the number of bellows joints, consider cold drawing at 50%.

5. This compensator is suitable for applications where the cross-sectional area is less than 4.6 square meters, and the outer dimension of the duct is less than 1.5 meters but greater than 0.6 millimeters on one side. Standard full-height bellows compensators are applicable to all flue and air ducts.
