Application of Desulfurization Baffle Doors in Desulfurization Systems

The desulfurization damper is an inlet damper. Given the relatively high temperature of the flue gas to be treated, carbon steel is often used as the primary material. The desulfurization damper serves as a connection device between the boiler system and the FGD system, and it significantly influences the operation of both systems. In the FGD system, flue gas dampers are commonly used as inlet dampers, outlet dampers, and bypass dampers.

In the FGD system, flue gas dampers are commonly used as inlet dampers, outlet dampers, and bypass dampers.
Under normal operating conditions, flue gas flows from the dust remover at the rear of the boiler, through the inlet damper of the FGD system, and enters the booster fan. After being cooled by the heat exchanger, the flue gas then passes into the absorption tower. Once desulfurized, the flue gas is reheated to approximately 80℃ by the flue gas heat exchanger and, after passing through the outlet damper of the FGD system, is discharged into the chimney.
1. Inlet damper door
The inlet damper, also known as the raw flue gas damper, is a flue gas damper installed between the boiler system and the desulfurization system. Its function is to open the desulfurization system and allow flue gas to enter the FGD system, and to close the desulfurization system, thereby preventing flue gas from leaking into or out of the FGD system.
2. Outlet damper door
The flue duct of the desulfurization system is connected to the chimney. The function of the outlet damper is to control whether the flue duct remains open to the chimney and to prevent flue gas from leaking out of the duct.
3. Bypass damper door
The desulfurization system is equipped with a bypass flue, which is fitted with a bypass flue damper. These dampers serve to provide a bypass path for flue gas to flow into the chimney when the FGD system is undergoing inspection, maintenance, or experiencing abnormal conditions, thereby bypassing the desulfurization system itself. The opening and closing of the desulfurization system’s bypass flue are both controlled by these flue dampers.
