How do you select the right fittings and connect them to stainless steel metal hoses?

Stainless steel metal hoses, made from stainless steel grades SUS304 or SUS301, serve as protective conduits for wires, cables, optical fibers, and signal lines in automated instrumentation. These instruments utilize stainless steel hoses equipped with connectors and wire/cable protection sleeves. The specifications of these stainless steel hoses range from an outer diameter of 3 mm to 150 mm, with each hose measuring 50 meters in length. Stainless steel metal hoses with smaller diameters (outer diameters ranging from 5 mm to 25 mm) provide solutions for protecting electronic equipment and sensor circuits, optical scale sensing circuits, and industrial sensor circuits. They offer exceptional flexibility, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, wear resistance, and tensile strength.
Selection of stainless steel metal hoses:
(1) Determine the nominal diameter size of the hose, select the fitting type (primarily male fittings, threaded connections, and quick-connect fittings), specify the dimensions of the metal hose, and determine the length of the hose.
(2) For stainless steel metal hoses, check the nominal diameter and pressure rating of the hose based on its actual working pressure, and determine whether to use a specific model of stainless steel mesh.
(3) The chemical properties of the medium determine the materials for each part of the hose, based on the corrosion resistance of the hose material.
(4) The operating temperature and range of the medium in the temperature hose; as well as the ambient temperature during hose operation. At high temperatures, the pressure must be adjusted for temperature using a temperature correction factor corresponding to the high-temperature working pressure of the metal hose, in order to determine the correct pressure level.
(5) When using hoses, compensation will be provided at settlement for the stainless steel metal hose, installation methods, and proper use of the hose. This includes parameters such as the length and quantity of the hose under various operating conditions, minimum bending time, and minimum bending radius. The hose length must be selected correctly and installed properly.
Connection method for stainless steel metal hose fittings:
1. Short-connection: Utilizes a single-stage inner-and-outer pipe screwing method. To enhance the sealing performance of metal hose connections, it is common practice to apply a layer of sealant to the external threaded pipe before connection. The wrapping technique involves pressing in the opposite direction to the thread—this ensures that as the stainless steel metal hose tightens, the sealant (HEYS) will not come loose but rather become even more secure. Please note that under high temperatures, do not allow high-pressure steam systems to become tangled, as the high heat can cause the sealant to burn, leading to ventilation issues with the metal hose fittings.
2. Filament Connections: The filament and the live connector are movable components mounted on the conduit, typically installed within equipment to replace lost parts or extended wires. Because filament connections are easy to maintain and allow for simple component replacement, they facilitate equipment repair and part replacement.
